We are raising a generation of children who are more anxious and emotionally overwhelmed than ever before. Educators are exhausted, families are overwhelmed, and in this context, learning has become a daily challenge.
Our Story
Kuará School was born from a question that kept growing over time:
The school system we have today no longer meets the needs of today's children.
Inspired by innovative educational models in Brazil and around the world, Kuará's founder began exploring new ways to rethink education in light of today's challenges: excessive screen time, limited contact with nature, and profound changes in children's daily lives.
In 2019, Kuará began as a nature-based play space, created to offer what is often missing from traditional education: free play, meaningful contact with nature, hands-on learning, and the development of essential life skills. This vision gave rise to our holiday camps, nature play Saturdays, and workshops for families and educators.
As our work evolved, so did our understanding of where we could make the greatest impact. In 2023, we expanded our work by opening an after-school program and began partnering with public schools through talks, teacher training, and educational projects.
Working closely with schools and families, we encountered the same reality time and again:
- educators overwhelmed by increasingly challenging behaviors;
- families doing their best, often without the support or guidance they need;
- children struggling with attention, relationships, and emotional self-regulation.
The problem wasn't a lack of commitment. What was missing were the knowledge, tools, and support needed to navigate a new and far more complex reality.
That was when we realized that the greatest challenge facing education today is not academic content. It is emotions, relationships, and behavior.
And we decided to dedicate our work to addressing exactly that.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support educators and families in developing the emotional skills that underpin learning, healthy relationships, and children's overall well-being.
Today, Kuará works alongside schools and families by providing:
- accessible, science-based knowledge about child development;
- practical strategies for understanding and responding to children's behavior;
- tools that reduce conflict and strengthen relationships.
More than introducing new ideas, Kuará translates science into everyday practice, empowering the people on the front lines of education to confidently face the challenges of modern childhood.
